post a message to their Facebook profiles on their birthdays , or better instead: not to even have to remember to do it. That is the basic premise of fBirthdays, a free app for iPhone that uses the “freemium” model and that does a very simple but important job: It allows you to schedule birthday messages that the app then posts on your behalf to your friends’ Facebook profiles at random times on their birthdays. Once installed, the first thing that you will need to do upon launching fBirthdays is to log in to your Facebook account in order to give the app permission to access your Facebook contact data and to send the birthday messages that you schedule on your behalf. Note: Depending on your iPhone model, the app might take a few moments to load and open. Once you log in, fBirthdays presents you with its main screen, where you will see all your contacts sorted by the proximity of their birthdays. To schedule a birthday message, simply tap on any contact, write your message and then tap on Save. If you would like to save your message to the app’s Library so you don’t have to type it every time, tap on Save Message To Library before tapping on Save. From then onwards, every time you want to use that message, tap Select Message from Library whenever composing a message. To access all your scheduled messages, tap the Scheduled tab at the bottom of the screen. Also, tapping the Settings tab allows you to adjust the time range in which you would like your birthday messages to be posted. Tip: You can delete scheduled messages by swiping left or right on any of them while on the Scheduled tab.
fBirthdays in Review
Despite one critical flaw (not being able to schedule multiple birthday messages at once) I like how fBirthdays works. The app allows you to schedule five birthday messages for free and then will ask you to unlock unlimited message scheduling via an in-app purchase of $0.99. This might seem a lot for many, especially considering the app’s simple functionality and the fact that there are other, free ways to achieve this very purpose.
